New building
Tula Exotarium is having a dream for a long time already. The matter is that it has already overgrown its old building – its collection is increasing with each year, and our staff is ready to organize new and interesting events, but at present the situation allows to demonstrate to the inhabitants of Tula and our guests only 10% from the total number of the species in the collection.
The realization of our dream – construction of a new building – began to gather speed during the last year. The draft project of the new building is already made. The architect from Tula, Vladimir Dotsenko, has been working and continues to work at this project.
The new building, like an oasis in a desert, will be a unique phenomenon in our town. Here visitors will have a possibility not only to see rare reptiles of our planet, but simply to have a rest with their families. The new zoo is being planned in such a manner so that it will be possible to attract tourists from all over the world to Tula and to show to them a huge unique collection of snakes.
The purpose of Exotarium was and is – establishing of a contact between nature and humans, conservation of nature and popularization of conservation activity. And in the new building we will have additional possibilities to achieve this. At the present moment, we simply physically cannot participate in many programs on conservation of rare species which we learnt to breed in captivity because of a banal absence of spare area for receiving of a large number of offspring and reintroduction of species. In the new building we want to fulfill this important role in a more complete way.
But we also have some difficulties – the money from the budget is not enough for constructing of this unique on its form and content building. That is why the staff of Exotarium is in the process of constant searching of possible sponsors and Maecenases Different ways for cooperation are being considered.
