Panther chameleon
Furcifer pardalis
Class: Reptiles (Reptilia)
Order: Squamoses (Squamata)
Suborder: Lizards (Lacertilia)
Family: Chameleons (Chamaeleonidae)
- It occurs on the island of Madagascar;
- The life-span is 4-5 years; the colouration of a chameleon depends on its inner state, as well as on the temperature of the environment, and it is not connected in any was with the surrounding background.
- Approximately in 45 days after the copulation the female of the Panther chameleon descend to the ground and digs a deep hole, where it lays from 12 up to 46 eggs, then she carefully fills up the hole with its clutch and smoothes down the surface, hiding the place of egg-laying.
