- It is widely distributed on the territory of the whole Eurasia, rare in North Africa. The life span is up to 20 years. First domestic pigs appeared as far back as in Ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece, dwarf breeds became popular by the end of the 20th century.
- The pigs have a very good sense of smell, and often they are used for searching of mushrooms – truffles. In spite of the general delusion, they are very clean and clever animals. They are very attached to their owner, popular domestic pets.
