  • It is distributed from South Burma across South-East Asia and Indonesia up to southern Philippines, Molucca islands and Timor island.
  • The life span is 30 years.
  • This is the largest snake in the world, at the Tokyo Zoo one specimen attained the length of 12.5 m. This species can swim perfectly, even in the open sea, probably because of this it managed to inhabit all small islands of its distribution range. It is often encountered near human settlements.
